Erika Alexander Joins Lennie James In Ernest Dickerson-Directed AMC Pilot 'Low Winter Sun'

While we wait, hoping that the graphic novel she created with her husband is adapted for the screen, Erika Alexander will join Lennie James and Mark Strong in an AMC drama pilot titled Low Winter Sun.

As a recap…

Ernest Dickerson is directing, from a script written by Chris Mundy, who’s also the executive producer on the project, said to be based on the dark 2006 British crime drama miniseries of the same name.

The series will reportedly center on…

… a district attorney who, when new edvidence comes to light years after the fact, reopens a high-profile murder case involving white defendants and black victims.

The show is expected to especially emphasize its racial themes.

As we already reported, Lennie James will play a character named Joe, who is described as “part cop, part perp” to Mark Strong’s corrupt detective Frank, who murders his partner, thinks he’s committed the perfect crime, but in reality, not quite so. And then shit hits the fan!

Erika Alexander will play LouiseLCCullen, who’s described as “a strong and intimidating cop who is completely matter-of-fact and straightforward in everything she does.

She was most recently seen in episodes of Suits and Suburgatory; she’s currently filming The Magic City, with Keith David, Jenifer Lewis and Jamie Hector.

WOW…she's one HELLUVA ACTRESS!!… i wrote a short film script with her in mind, along with another underrated actress Paula Kelly,Michael Rooker,Todd Bridges and Melvin Van Pebbles as my "Dream Cast" in this film class years ago…its great seeing her now…as pretty as ever and still grinding;-)

She is a wonderful actress, and I can't wait to see more from her. And she looks absolutely stunning!

I remember Erika was the love interest of Benjamin Bratt in an indie drama LA Mission two years ago! Erika looks amazing my goodness she's 43 and looks so much younger!

Awesome! I love her, too. The character description makes me nostalgic for Viola Davis' dirty cop on Criminal Intent.

Erika Alexander was really fantastic on Living Single. She has some pretty awesome comedic timing and always felt that she and that entire cast was underrated in lieu of the rather unfunny Friends. I always felt that she would have shined in her own sitcom. She's a good dramatic actress as well but comedy is her wheelhouse. I'm glad to hear she's been working consistently throughout the years.

I love her! Maxine Shaw, how I have missed you!
