Nate Parker Circling Role In Spike Lee's 'Oldboy'

Nate Parker is “in talks” to join Samuel L. JacksonJosh BrolinSharlto Copley and Elizabeth Olsen in Spike Lee’s Oldboy.

If all goes well, Parker will play a doctor who works with Olsen’s character.

I can’t recall that specific role in Park Chan-wook’s 2003 film, nor in the graphic novel I read, so it’s either a newly-created part, or a peripheral one (or both).

Lee is directing from a script penned by Mark Protosevich, who will also co-produce, along with Roy LeeDoug Davison and Nathan Kahane of Good Universe.

This would be a reunion for Parker and Lee; Nate co-starred in Spike’s Red Hook Summer, which is currently in theaters.

He’ll next be seen with Richard Gere in Nicholas Jarecki’s Arbitrage, which opens September 14.
