Trailer – Garcelle Beauvais In Haiti-Set Drama ‘Eyes To See’

Trailer - Garcelle Beauvais In Haiti-Set Drama 'Eyes To See'

Here’s the trailer for a Haiti-set drama titled Eyes to See, which has just been relased on DVD; it co-stars Garcelle Beauvais, who will soon be seen in the Denzel Washington/Robert Zemeckis drama, Flight.

As the trailer shows, it centers on an American cameraman covering the 2010 earthquake in Haiti, who gets trapped in a building alongside a mother also trapped, and whose son is desperately looking for her. Naturally, the two form a bond as they hope and pray that help comes in time before it’s too late.

Though the interiors were shot in L.A., most of the exteriors were shot in location in Haiti, and the film was a deeply personal project for Beauvais, who herself is Haitian. She was born and lived there until she was a teenager, when her family (one member at a time) finally relocated to the U.S.

Even more personal for her was that her character’s name in the film – Marie-Claire – was coincidentally her mother’s name as well.

I hope that the filmmaker plans to donate some of the proceeds back to the nation of Haiti.
