Watch New Clip From Lee Daniels' 'Paperboy' In All Its Sweaty, Sticky, Tarty Glory

"I think that you’ll find it very provocative. It’s definitely an unexpected choice after Precious. The reviews have been mixed. They’re the same as Precious, but I’m not here to please you as I did with Precious. With Paperboy, there’s some big stars in it [including Zac Efron, Matthew McConaughey and Nicole Kidman] and they were surprised that I got them to do what I got Mo'Nique and Gabby [Gabourey Sidibe] to do. But I think die hard Lee Daniels fans will love the film and those who can’t stomach the truth will be appalled and call it disgusting."

Those were words from director Lee Daniels, posted on this site last week, talking about his latest polarizing work, The Paperboywhich premiered at the Cannes Film Festival in May, and was later picked up by Millennium Entertainment for release in USA theaters on October 5.

As you may recall, the film sharply divided critics after its debut screening at Cannes. But of course – has he ever made a film (whether directed himself or produced) that didn't sharply divide audiences/critics?

I'm actually looking forward to checking it out myself, if only to see what all the hoopla is about, and I will soon enough. Of course my thoughts will follow.

The Paperboy follows a reporter who returns to his Florida hometown to investigate a case involving a death row inmate. Its starring cast includes Matthew McConaugheyZac Efron, Nicole Kidman, John Cusack and David Oyelowo.

A brand new clip has surface, but unfortunately, we can't embed it. So if you're curious, and want to see it, you'll have to head over to EW (HERE), and watch it in all its hot, sweaty, dirty, sticky glory.

I LOVE how provocative Lee's films are—I can't wait for this…

John Cusack looks like he's playing Nicholas Cage playing a convicted murderer. lol Being from the South, anything this fried and greasy will get a once-over from me.
