It’s been two years since since it was revealed that the notoriously picky Viggo Mortensen would lead Ana Piterbarg’s directorial debut, the Argentinian-made, Spanish-language “Everybody Has A Plan,” in dual roles as the identical twins Pedro and Agustin. After many stills and a non-subtitled Spanish language trailer, naturally, we finally have a North American trailer complete with English subtitles.
Okay, so it’s pretty much exactly the same as the previously released trailer, just with English translations, but now many of you non-Spanish speakers will understand it now? The plot seems fairly straightforward — one twin has a crime-ridden past while the other is bored with his bourgeois life, and the two switch to disastrous consequences. It's like an arthouse version of "Sister Sister."
We’re really excited by the fact that an actor like Mortensen would take on a completely foreign-language role, especially two of them, though it's not the first time with Mortensen starring in "Alatriste" a few years back. Unfortunately there’s still no word on when the film will be released Stateside — the film opened in Argentina a couple of weeks ago — although it shouldn’t be a long wait, considering it’s being screened at TIFF and already has a distributor. Check out the trailer below.
