2012 Hollywood Black Film Festival Announces Exciting New Programming Lineup + Dates

It’s fall film festival season, in case you haven’t noticed, and Los Angeles-based readers should be aware of the upcoming 2012 installment of The Hollywood Black Film Festival, which runs from October 25 – 28 this year, with a full lineup of films (some we’ve written about, others we haven’t and will), panels, and other expected film festival festivities, as well as some new and exciting ones.

Executive Director of the festival, Tanya Kersey, has announced this year’s program, which begins with the opening screening of the rom-com Note To Self, which stars Christian Keyes and LeToya Luckett.

Other familiar titles include Versailles ’73: American Runway Revolution, Dar He: The Lynching of Emmitt Till, The Black Kungfu Experience, and several others.

Expect panels with titles like Packaging & Pitching Your Project; Online Social Networking, Promotions & Building Audiences in CyberspaceMasters Class: Film Producers Roundtable; and many more.

Also, attendees will be treated to a conversation with DeVon Franklin, Senior Vice President Of Production at Columbia Pictures.

And there’s a lot more…

Starting next week Monday, we’ll post individual highlights from this year’s event, leading up to the October 25 start date, to give you snapshots of what to expect in terms of films, panels, talks, etc. So look out for those individual posts over the next 2 weeks.

We’ll also be interviewing Ms Kersey, continuing our mission to profile film festival executives of African descent. That interview will likely be posted the week that the festival begins.

In the meantime, feel free to peruse the full lineup of films and events at the festival’s website, by clicking HERE.
