It's A 'Love Jones' Reunion - Larenz Tate & Nia Long Book Roles On Don Cheadle's 'House Of Lies'

Larenz Tate and Nia Long have booked recurring roles for the second season of the Showtime comedy series, House Of Lies, which stars Don Cheadle.

Tate will play Cheadle’s (Marty’s) younger, less-ambitious, activist brother, while Long will play a fellow consultant and former classmate of Cheadle’s (Marty’s) who proves to be a formidable foe.

Of course, Tate and Long starred in the best black film ever made (to some people) – 1997’s Love Jones, so this is as close to a reunion as the two have gotten. Prelude to Love Jones 2 maybe?

Based on the book, House of Lies: How Management Consultants Steal Your Watch and Tell You the Time by Martin Kihn, the second season of House Of Lies begins shooting in Los Angeles in November, and will return to Showtime on January 13th at 10 pm ET/PT.

House Of Lies is a subversive, scathing look at a self-loathing management consultant from a top-tier firm. Cheadle stars as Marty, a highly successful, cutthroat consultant who will use any means (or anyone) necessary to get his clients the information that they want.

Yippy! Love the show, love Don Cheadle, and yes Love Jones was one of the best Black films ever made :)

It's great to see them both working on the same project, even if it's not in the context we would like to see (i.e. "Love Jones Volume 2").

I hope Nia and Larenz make it a point to start looking for more acting roles. I understand actors wanting to be selective in their choices but as Ive said before if your not doing movies, you should be doing stage, web series, hosting, different things to stay visible. Because unfortunately when movie opportunities arise you need a loyal fan base to go out and support the film to justify you being put in the next film. Its just the politics of Hollywood. They both are getting older and there are alot of younger people who are not familiar with there work. Best wishes to them both.
