The Oscar prospects might be low for the latest Brad Pitt vehicle "Killing Them Softly," but that hasn't caused The Weinstein Company to skimp in the promotional department. Earlier this month we ran six of their posters for the thriller in a post subtly titled "Are the 'Killing Them Softly' Posters Among the Best of the Year? We Think So?." Now with today's release of three more (!) posters, we can safely say: "We know so."
Set to open in select theaters on November 30, Andrew Dominik's heavily stylized adaptation of George V. Higgins' 1974 crime novel "Cogan's Trade" centers on a mob enforcer (Brad Pitt) sent to Boston to take out of a couple of small-time hoods who robbed a poker game.
"The screenplay is a treatise on why the tough guys always win in a society invariably set against itself," wrote Eric Kohn in his review out of Cannes, where the film world premiered earlier this year. "Dominik has constructed a provocative revisionist history that beats the original Obama election message of hope and progress to a bloody mass."
Pitt's famous mug doesn't feature in any of the three, so chances are you won't see these line the walls of your local multiplex anytime soon. Viewing below will have to sadly suffice. [Source: VICE]
