Summit Entertainment Releases 3 New TV Spots For Tyler Perry's 'Alex Cross'

Well, D-day is fast approaching. Alex Cross opens next week Friday. And, to some surprise, it'll be screened for the press before it opens – a rare occurence for a movie starring Tyler Perry; although this one he didn't write or direct.

However, screenings won't happen until a few days before the film opens next week, AND, reviews can't be posted until the day the film opens, on October 19th. So, not exactly a vote of confidence there by Summit Entertainment.

Either Sergio or myself will review it opening weekend… hopefully it actually gives us something to write about.

The film, which features a supporting cast of rather solid actors in Cicely TysonGiancarlo EspositoMatthew FoxEd Burns, and others, will be released with a PG13 rating by the MPAA.

Summit Entertainment has released 3 new TV spots for the film, although they aren't all that different from each other; watch below:

Really glad they re-cut the trailer and made shorter and tighter ones so the movie looks a lot more appealing. A bit concerned that they all use the same lines and scenes. Hope that's not the best their is in the film. Will watch it for sure. More to life and movies for him than Madea.

I saw one of the spots yesterday (#3) and it was 100 times better than the one that was last posted here. Almost makes me want to watch it in the theater…. almost. I'm afraid Tyler Perry will do that slow, emotionless, growl-talking throughout the whole film and I know I'll laugh and offend someone.

Decent attempt – "A" for effort.

I am happy for Tyler Perry this is his first major project and it is a risk his character is a detective. The genre is also different for Tyler this is a dramatic action film. I want to see this movie because I am curious to see if Tyler can pull off a strong performance.

Matthew Fox!!!

My seat is booked at a theater near me. Go Tyler.
