Matthew will return soon with a new entry to his S&A filmmaker diary series (it’s been awhile, so some of you new readers may not be familiar, but you can click HERE to start from the very beginning and play catch up). In this new entry, he’ll discuss film deliverables; or as he bluntly put it, things that he wished someone had explained to him when he was making the film. So expect something educational that all you up-and-coming filmmakers will be able to learn something from.

A new clip from the film has been released (a scene featuring both Gross and Beharie), and it’s embedded for you to watch below:

Huge Nicole Behaire fan as well. She's strong in every film I've seen her in. Hopefully this gets some support down on Crenshaw. 80K is dirt after taxes, agency fees, etc. Especially if you live in Los Angeles and are paying $8 a gallon for gas.

James Madison

Looks good! If it comes to New York, I'm in!

So anxious to see this. This clip just makes me want more. And might I add: both of these people are just too gotdarn gorgeous.

I did the math off the 80K and it still averages out to a lot more than most people I know make in a year. If you live modestly, with a nice co-op and one car, a football player is doing just fine. The problem, from my vantage, isn't the money, it is whether such a dangerous game is worth playing? Now when you consider the danger, 80K may not be worth in my opinion. But if you're passionate about the game, it will be a fortune. Good convo piece. I just wish the clip/scene was more eventful. Nothing happened. But it looks great. What was this film shot on?

nice clip.

I want to see more.

Love, LOVE Nichole Beharie. Hope to see some big and great things with her in the coming years. Beautiful, intelligent and talented. She has natural star quality.

Saw this at Urbanworld. Lance Gross is extremely likable. You really root for his character. Nicole Beharie is mysterious, gorgeous and her performance is layered. The story is definitely a little thin, but the performances and their chemistry keep things interesting.
