Chicago Engagement Of Restored 'Nothing But A Man' In Dec.

Two weeks ago, Tambay wrote about the upcoming New York theatrical engagement of a new restored print of Michael Roemer's 1964's film, Nothing But a Man (HERE) this month. Fortunately New Yorkers won't be the only lucky ones.

The Gene Siskel Film Center in Chicago has just announced that it will also show the film in late December on Friday, the 28th and Saturday the 29th.

If you claim you're serious about black cinema, then you have have no excuse to miss it. It's a simple, yet beautiful and powerfful film of raw honesty and emotion.

There was time, years ago,  when it was actually shown regularly on TV, especially on local PBS stations, but the film has been out of circulation for at least more than a decade.

But to see it again on the big screen in a restored print is a rare joy.

If you're in the Chicago area you can't afford to miss it..

Here's a short clip from the film, once again:
