John Cusack To Produce & Star In A Rush Limbaugh Biopic

John Cusack To Produce & Star In A Rush Limbaugh Biopic

Here’s a movie that won’t make a cent in any international markets – John Cusack is hard at work developing a biopic of the controversial, right-wing radio host Rush Limbaugh. The project has a working title of “Rush” and is being produced by Cusack’s own production company (New Crime Productions), with Cusack also in line to star in the lead role. Because, sure, that makes sense…we can totally see the resemblance.

New Crime Productions spoke out about the biopic, which apparently also has a director attached. That would be Betty Thomas (“Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel”), and she’s presumably the natural choice given that she directed the Howard Stern biopic “Private Parts” (in which Stern played himself) back in 1997.

Limbaugh is clearly a controversial character, and most recently he sparked widespread outrage after calling student Sandra Fluke a “slut” regarding her views on insurance coverage for contraception, leading to a number of companies withdrawing ads from “The Rush Limbaugh Show.” Apparently the biopic will focus on the rise and reinvention of American Talk Radio in general, as well as showingLimbaugh’s impact on it during the last three decades. We’re not sure we see the commercial appeal of the project (though it will certainly give pundits lots to talk about), and Cusack’s involvement is a bit of a puzzler too. The biopic is slated for production some time in 2013.

Cusack has lost his freakin' mind, nobody will want to see this, the liberal elitists are too smart for this, Rush and his conservative base hate Hollywood almost as much as they hate kindness, generosity and treadmills.

This is a fascinating subject for a biopic, but christ Cusack is gonna have to go FULL ON Raging Bull method to get in shape for this, or else drape himself in some seriously distracting fat suit/ugly make-up.

Worst idea/actor-subject combo/actor/waste of money and or resources I've heard for a long, long time. Compared to this that Hungry, Hungry, Hippos movie they're making sounds like The Godfather.

It has to be better than War, Inc.

I adore John Cusack. That said, don't think I could muster up the hutzpuh to stomach a movie about the pill-popping, sexual deviant, sucmbag that is the subject matter. Attention seeking whore that this pile of pus is, any press is good press for him. I know your goal is to educate, John, but count me out on this one.
