Watch: Brad Pitt Runs From Zombies In First Footage From 'World War Z'

After a brutal summer where press around “World War Z” could not get worse as news of reshoots, rewrites, an ending that doesn’t workon set conflicts, and more spilled out, Paramount have dusted themselves off and are getting ready to (re)launch “World War Z.” Can Brad Pitt save the day and this movie?

Ahead of the trailer on Thursday (mark your calendars), “Entertainment Tonight” (via Ace Showbiz) had dropped a bit of preview with enough new footage to make it worth a spin. Based on the book by Max Brooks that presents an oral history by a UN bureaucrat named Gerry Lane, who in the aftermath of the zombie war is asked to compile a complete report on the incident, it’s been made pretty clear that the movie deviates heavily from the source material. It seems this picture will adopt the contemporary fast moving zombie, and holy shit, it looks like there’s a ton of them. If Paramount’s looking to sell spectacle, it looks like they will do the job, but whether or not Marc Forster‘s film (and perhaps reputation) has been salvaged remains to be seen.

“World War Z” comes for brains on June 21, 2013.

ok that turn an almost documentary like book using "realistis" zombies into an action movie with leteral waves of fast, climbing, super zombies?? fuck hollywood

Does Brad ever take that silly scarf off? You're not in the PLO Brad.

Hola Backgrinder

I like the trailer, even though I wish the movie was going to be true to the book. I think it will be a major departure, I blogged about that here: World War Z

Wow, look at those threatening hoards of CGI zombies.

Lol the parts shot in Glasgow stick out like a sore thumb!

I don't think this short preview is enough to for me to decide what to think about the film. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt until I see the full trailer.

These zombies are moving VERY fast. LOL Something about Pitt in this movie seems… off. I'm not a book-versus-movie guy, but I don't know if a film adaptation can live up to what Max Brooks put down on paper. I just hope this doesn't turn into a Roland Emmerich disaster flick.

I am sorry…… but I am tired of Brad's face. I like him, but maybe in "independent films", not blockbusters.

This shit looks like 'I Am Legend 2'; seeming like it could have very well taken place in another part of the world while Neville was locked down in New York.

I will be there the first day. ET always chops up film footage in their haste to be first. The first actual trailer will be shown with Skyfall so hoards will see it (and will be out on Thursday). As with all on the net these days all the trouble crap was way overblown.

This. Looks. Terrible. What's with the sub-Resident Evil CG zombie hordes? Boo.

Those cgi zombies look god-awful.

Some zombies look fake but still want to see.
