David Fincher‘s upcoming “House Of Cards” isn’t coming to you on some national network or cable channel, but instead through Netflix, the rental and streaming service that is now headed into original programming. it’s only natural that members get a sneak peek first, and the first trailer for the series has dropped over on Netflix Instant.
Based on the BBC TV political thriller, the Washington D.C.-set drama stars Kevin Spacey as Francis Underwood, the Machiavellian chief whip of the House of Representatives on a ruthless quest for power. Robin Wright, Kate Mara, Michael Kelly (“Chronicle“), Kristen Connolly (“Cabin In The Woods“), Corey Stoll (“Midnight In Paris‘) and Mahershali Ali (“The Curious Case Of Benjamin Button“) all co-star in the series penned by “The Ides Of March” co-writer Beau Willimon. Fincher directed the first two episodes, and executive produced the series alongside Spacey, with James Foley (“Glengarry Glen Ross“), Carl Franklin (“Devil In A Blue Dress“) and Joel Schumacher (“Batman And Robin“) among the other helmers involved.
