'Madea Gets A Job' Coming Out On Blu-Ray DVD In Feb.

So when I heard about this new DVD coming out, my first thought was, when did this Tyler Perry movie come out? He cranks them out like a sausage machine, so I thought this was one that slipped by.

Turns out this is not a film, of course, but a stage play which toured around the U.S. earlier this year. And if you missed it, here's your chance.

A Blu-ray DVD of the play is coming out from Lionsgate Films on Feb. 5

Starring, who else, as Madea (which begs the question – does he have an understudy if he can't perform that night, and if so who is he?), Patrice Lovely, Chandra Currelley-Young and Cheryl "Pepsii" Riley (God, that's a name I haven't heard in 20 years) and shows what happens "when a judge orders Madea to do 20 hours of community service at a local retirement home, the residents and staff are not ready for Madea's brand of "the truth", but all is well that ends well when Madea helps the residents of Easy Rest Retirement Home realize the importance of family, love and forgiveness."

The only extra feature is an Under the Skirt…I mean a Behind the Curtain with the cast of Madea Gets a Job.

Ilove madea but I wish this was a movie.I have watched videos of some of Tylers plays and dont care for them. The movies on the otherhand I buy as soon as they come out. I hope Tyler Perry makes some more Madea movies they are The best ever.

Isnt this the play that got cancelled because they where scalping tickets and Perry got pissed and just threw in the towel?

Don't stone me but I actually bought a ticket to see this on tour earlier this year, but I also saw Porgy & Bess on Broadway SEVERAL times so…. It was my first time seeing Mr. Perry live and although I was only 4 rows from the stage (I wouldn't go if I were any further), I hated that it was in a arena/coliseum. Offering $25 nosebleed tickets to people who can't even see the images on the jumbo screens is crazy. Theater is not meant to be in such a large venue. He's a very good talent scout. His vocalists are some of the best in the industry. And no, he doesn't have an understudy.
