First up, here's some trivia: Did you know that rapper T.I. was up for a part in "Iron Man 3"? "I was being considered for this one film," he told RapUp (via HitFix) "Now that it's over with, I can say it. 'Iron Man 3.' I was being considered for 'Iron Man 3' and it wasn't to be Iron Man, it was to be another character in the film but our schedules did not align and they had to do their little movie anyway…I told them go on ahead, I didn't want to get in their way." Thanks, T.I.
Anyway, a brand new still has arrived from the follow up, which continues to look like the most emo outing ever. Our hero seems to have gotten the snot kicked out of him, and it makes us wonder if Shane Black's "techno-thriller" will have some sunlight to go with that shade. Because "Iron Man 3" is looking like a bit of a downer, or as it's called these days, "gritty." Everyone loves gritty, right? Guess we'll see how it all turns out on May 3, 2013.
Meanwhile, Marvel is keeping their sights on the small screen, where they hope they will continue their comic-book domination with the series "S.H.I.E.L.D." which will have Clark Gregg returning as (not dead?) Agent Coulson, and the show has been busy adding a bunch of people we never heard of over the past few weeks (most recently Chloe Bennet), and things are moving full steam ahead for a possible fall 2013 bow. "Well…we have a 'little' pilot for television that you might have heard about called Marvel's 'S.H.I.E.L.D.' co-written, directed, and executive produced by none other than Joss Whedon!" said Marvel TV head Jeph Loeb. "Working with Joss, Jed Whedon, Maurissa Tancharoen, Jeffrey Bell on the show is a blast! And bringing in Clark Gregg to play Agent Phil Coulson — the best! Hopefully we will be on in the Fall of 2013 on ABC!"
And yeah, that would seem to be the logical place for the show to launch, but the bigger question is how it will fit into the grand Marvel movie universe. We'll have to wait and see, but the answer shouldn't be too far off. [Marvel/PreviewsWorld/THR]
