2013 Golden Globe Predictions: Best Motion Picture - Drama

Indiewire will provide regular updates of our predictions for the Golden Globe Awards through January 13th, when the winners are announced.

Here’s our take on the best motion picture drama category, which is basically a show down between Steven Spielberg’s “Lincoln,” Ben Affleck’s “Argo,” and Kathryn Bigelow’s “Zero Dark Thirty” and perhaps one of the hardest categories to call.

Our take below: Check out all predictions in all the categories here.

The nominees:
“Django Unchained”
“Life of Pi”
“Zero Dark Thirty”

Will win: “Argo”
Could win: Any of them but “LIfe of Pi,” really.
Should win: “Zero Dark Thirty”

Fuck you Peter: ZERO DARK PROPAGANDA should not win

We are going to have to agree to disagree on this one, since I am convinced that Django Unchained is going to win tonight. But this is definitely the most unpredictable award and the only one I care about watching, especially since the playoffs are also on tonight. In fact, my buds from my office at DISH and I have already decided to record the whole awards show just to fast-forward straight to this announcement! I'm just glad that I'm able to record this event without affecting the football game, since my DISH Hopper DVR’s three independent tuners lets me do multiple things at once. Otherwise, I'd just have to live with missing out on something.

The reactions to Django Unchained are fantastic.
