BBC Murder-Mystery Series 'Death In Paradise' Currently Airing On PBS (Watch Online)

The first season of BBC’s murder-mystery series Death In Paradise has been airing here in the U.S. on PBS since last month.

Death In Paradise is a light-hearted British mystery series that should easily develop a following here.

Check the synopsis:

Death In Paradise is a fish-out-of-water story about a quintessential English cop posted to the Caribbean island of Saint-Marie. To anyone else it would be paradise, but for Detective Inspector Richard Poole it’s hell!

Brit actor Ben Miller (Primeval) and French actress Sara Martins (C.I.D., Orpailleur) star in the lead roles as Detective Inspector Richard Poole and Detective Camille Bordey, respectively. Danny John-Jules, Lenora Crichlow, Gary Carr, and Don Warrington co-star in the first season of this 8-part TV series.  The series also features loads of guest-stars, including Colin Salmon.

I’m not sure what determines which regions of the U.S. are able to watch Death In Paradise on PBS, but I did find a link that will enable you to watch the first episode online.  If you like what you see, I’d suggest you contact your local PBS station and see if they plan to add it to their schedule.

Is Camille leaving?!

This is a great show and the new girl is beautiful.

“I arrived out here for the first series and within a few weeks my wife Jessica discovered she was pregnant. That threw everything, because it meant she couldn’t come and visit me for the six months I was out here. During the second series, my son Sonny [from his previous marriage] was starting school – your first year of school is so important – and I did think about him coming over here but I’m divorced from his mum, and it wasn’t very practical. Then when I came back, I picked up my baby son Harrison and he started crying because he didn’t know who I was. My personal circumstances just made it too complicated, but I will miss it like a lung. I love it here.”

Shame Ben Miller has left

no, don't listen to Anon; it's really a good show. Maybe that person would rather watch crazy reality.

Love the show but why, oh why did you remove Ben??????????????? Does anyone know??

You completely ruined the show by replacing the inspector with the complete idiot from our family. You took an excellent show and screwed it up. If it is not broke dont fix it. My opinion goes from enjoyment to complete disgust. No longer will I watch your show or support your station. Nice job management.

I love this show. I am watching it right now (GA). Like others, I also record to look at it another time.

I loved this show. How come its no longer airing.
A refreshing show!

I can't watch many tv shows because their dialogue is so trite, plots are loosely crafted and characters are interchangeable or indecipherably evil– so I am really enjoying this show, which is distinctive and refreshing!!!

I love this show. I can't wait to seeit every week. I also record it so I can watch again.

I tuned in to BBC Thursday, June 6, to watch my favorite TV show (The only one I actually make plans to watch!) and it was not on. What happened? Series 2 has not yet ended. When and where will it return?

I love Death in Paradise. It never drags, always holds your attention. I record it so I can watch it again. I hope PBS continues showing it. Great show! The British do such wonderful programs. Have been watching British comedies, mysteries etc. for years. Keep them coming.

We watched this series for the first time tonight (4/12/13) and absolutely loved it! We're looking forward to more.
