Nonso Anozie Joins NBC's 'Dracula' Drama Series In Key Series Regular Role

Brit thespian, Nonso Anozie has joined Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Jessica DeGouw and Katie McGrath to star in NBC’s new Dracula serial.

The 10-episode drama will take place in the 1890s and will follow Alan Grayson (aka Dracula, played by Meyers)…

… living a double life in London as an American businessman interested in bringing modern science to Victorian society. But his true plan — to exact revenge on those who burdened him centuries ago — is derailed when he falls in love with Mina (DeGouw), who seems to be a reincarnation of his dead wife.

Anozie will play a character named R.M. RenfieldAlan Grayson’s loyal confidante, who knows all of Dracula’s secrets (including the fact that he is Dracula, and what his true plan is), and is the stabilizing force that allows his two personas to co-exist.

The new series is a co-production between British Sky Broadcasting, Carnival Films & Television, Flame Ventures and NBCUniversal. It was created by Tony Krantz (24, Sports Night) and former HBO Films president Colin Callender and writer Cole Haddon

NBC is aiming for a fall 2013 debut of the new show.

Look for the busy Anozie as Samson in the 10-part epic series The Bible on the History channel, starring in Idris Elba’s directorial debut (the TV drama Pavement Psychologist), Paramount’s Jack Ryan, Enders Game, and more.
