World premiering in two days at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City is the New Frontier entry "Halley," the directorial debut of renowned visual artist and experimental filmmaker Sebastian Hofmann. Indiewire has the exclusive trailer, below.
The sure-to-be-oddball character study centers on a Mexican security guard afflicted with a strange illness. Ashamed of his horrifying condition, he holes up in his apartment and injects himself with embalming fluid to stem his decay.
According to Sundance, "Sebastian Hofmann’s increasingly surrealistic feature debut subverts genre conventions and audience expectations, treating its living-dead protagonist with sensitivity and compassion."
