CBS Films Picks Up Coen Brothers' 'Inside Llewyn Davis' Starring Justin Timberlake

CBS Films announced today that they have acquired U.S. rights to Joel and Ethan Coen’s highly anticipated new film “Inside Llewyn Davis.” Written and directed by the Coens and produced by Scott Rudin and Joel and Ethan Coen, the film stars Oscar Isaac, Carey Mulligan, John Goodman, Garrett Hedlund, F. Murray Abraham and Justin Timberlake.

“Inside Llewyn Davis” follows an aspiring singer-songwriter (Isaac) as he navigates the 1960s folk-music scene in New York City’s Greenwich Village.  T Bone Burnett produced the film’s soundtrack which includes music performed by, among others, Oscar Isaac, Marcus Mumford and Justin Timberlake.  Robert Graf served as executive producer, T Bone Burnett served as executive music producer and Marcus Mumford as associate music producer.
Studio Canal is handling international distribution for the film as well as foreign sales.  UTA negotiated on behalf of the filmmakers. No release date has been set, but a premiere in Cannes has been rumored. Watch the trailer below:

Or, is it "One Night Only" because people find out he's a fraud. If you wanted to pretend to be a folk singer in those days, maybe you had a cat. He's trying to get into this folk scene but he's not good enough. That's what this trailer tells me.

The ending of this trailer tells me that this guy played by Oscar Davis is not musician or folk singer but that he pretends to be. Then it sais "One Night Only" That doesn't make sense so there is something special about the way he plays guitar and sings or is it just a film about a musician with a bad attitude? I like the way John Goodman says, "Your a folk singer, I thought you were a musician"? Whatever it's about, you know there is more to this than you think with the Coens.
