As if "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" couldn't be more stuffed with characters, with Jamie Foxx already on board as Electro, and Paul Giamatti as Rhino, here comes yet another. Yep, Green Goblin is coming to the franchise that has since given up claiming it will be "the untold story."
This time around, the usually solid Chris Cooper will put on Willem Dafoe's green suit as the villain, playing Norman Osborne, who you already know is the father of Harry Osborne, slated to be played by Dane DeHaan. There's no word yet on if Cooper is a fully fledged baddie at his point, or will start flying around scaring people in "The Amazing Spider-Man 3." Or maybe he'll pass on his villainous steez to his progeny in an epic part two. Either way, director Marc Webb is certainly upping the ante on the followup, but whenever comic movies tend to cram in characters, history hasn't been kind.
Filming is already underway, with Webb tweeting and Instagramming photos at a prodigious rate. We presume there will be some kind of Comic-Con presentation for fans this summer, and the movie will sling into theaters on May 2, 2014 with Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Felicity Jones, Shailene Woodley, Martin Sheen and more.
