After donning an incredible headdress and thick eyeliner in "The Lone Ranger," Johnny Depp is ready to move onto something new. First he will star in "Dark Knight" cinematographer Wally Pfister's directorial debut, "Transcendence." Then he plans to shoot "Black Mass," to be directed by Barry Levinson ("Wag the Dog," "Rain Man").
The biopic about Boston crime boss Whitey Bulger is based on the book "Black Mass: The True Story of the Unholy Alliance Between the FBI and the Irish Mob," penned by Boston Globe reporters Dick Lehr and Gerard O’Neill.
Until then, Depp is dabbling in other projects–like starting a publishing imprint.
