Larenz Tate Joins Craig Robinson In NBC Pilot From 'The Office' Exec Producer

Larenz Tate will co-star alongside funnyman/actor Craig Robinson in his upcoming pilot sold to NBC by The Office executive producer Greg Daniels – a yet-to-be-titled sale penned by Owen Ellickson (supervising producer for The Office).

The project will follow a talented musician (played by Robinson) with rough edges, who adjusts to his new life as a music teacher in a big-city middle school, where he encounters teacher politics and the temptations of single moms.

Larenze Tate will play Kevin, Craig’s brother and partner in the duo’s band called The Filthy Gentleman. Further, Kevin is described as a charismatic lady-killer who has never held a regular job, thanks to his musical talents, and who thinks Craig’s dedication to his students is a waste of time.

If the pilot works for NBC, then, as is customary, it’ll go to series, which means we just might be seeing another black-led series on NBC next season.

What ever happened to BET's Gun Hill? Wasn't Larenz supposed to star in that as well?

I've heard Larenz Tate described as "sexy petite" and Craig Robinson as "that guy from the office." Whose office? BEATS THE HELL OF ME! I DONT WANNA BE BAD OR DEFEATED OR WRONG! I WANNA SHOW HOW FUNKY AND STRONG MY WET WIPES ARE!

Great. We don't see nearly enough of Larenz. He is one of the few actors that people are always asking where he is. And he never ages…….looking 25. LOL!!!

Sounds interesting and endearing. I hope the project actually comes to fruition.

Ahhh, two Chicago boyz–LOVE IT!!

Thats whats up! He gonna be on "House of Lies" too!
