Award winning filmmaker Bill Ross ("45365," "Tchoupitoulis"), who makes films with his brother Turner, created the NFL Game Day video welcoming fans and athletes to the city of New Orleans for Superbowl 47. NOLA is the home base for the Ross brothers film studios and as a town where they spent much of their childhood in, they are not unfamiliar with the story of resilience that is told in the short film.
The short features local bakery owner Dwight Henry as he speaks to his experience with the city he loves and it's ability to bounce back after the devastation of hurricane Katrina. Dwight Henry is a familiar face as he played the part of Wink in the Oscar-nominated film, 'Beasts of the Southern Wild' after being encouraged by the film's production team to audition.
Masters of capturing the ordinary and sharing it in a beautiful way, Ross demonstrates how football can be a unifying force for a city devastated by a natural disaster. Even non-football fans can appreciate this ode to a city.
