From Issa Rae Productions Comes New Series - 'How Men Become Dogs' (Watch Ep. 1)

From Issa Rae Productions comes a new web series titled How Men Become Dogs.

The title should be self-explanatory, but here’s a breakdown:

After three good men have disastrous breakups with their unappreciative girlfriends, they decide to become womanizers by enrolling in a class that teaches them how to become the “dog” women can’t seem to resist.

The series was created and directed by Marc Cunningham, co-written by Cunningham and Yvette Foy, and stars Cunningham, Bechir Sylvain, Wayne Bowser, and Corey Gaddis.

It’s executive produced by Issa Rae (who I’m sure needs no intro), Benoni Tagoe and Yvette Foy.

I liked it. I thought it was funny and it's promising. I didnt get the same reaction i had when i first saw ABG but I think it may be something to watch…i'll be watching. I trust Issa Rae so lets go!

Sorry, but the first scene with the picnic basket is not nearly as farfetched as some sisters would have us believe.

Can't believe Issa lent her name to this poorly written, poorly acted, misogynist, illogical mess. Really? Women are to blame for the terrible way (some) men treat women? These "nice" guys should just have women falling at their feet because why? They can keep this one.

sigh. almost clicked-off but waited to see the "Dog Whisperer". will give another ep a chance just to see what he does. best thing so far was the eye makeup.

After staring at the above photo of those four gentlemen, it seems like I'm going to have to start rehearsing and perfecting my "coolness smile" to compete in today's world. Dang it all.

Tough crowd. I don't think it's meant to be taken literally. It's like a mockumentary.

I don't think it's the greatest thing ever, but I was entertained enough to want to see where the next episode goes.

I can't get through the first 2 mins. Very disappointed. Plays like a black twitter conversation. Foolish & almost unnecessary. Like who is breaking up with a guy for having a picnic basket and leaving him for a thug? Smh. Just a lot of stereotypes….

Yet another failed attempt of creating a black web series that illustrates black stereotypes. Can't we conceive something new, innovative, and creative? Tsk tsk tsk. I'm surprised Issa cosigned on this. She's done a lot better with her own web series.

Wasn't this a Martin episode?

Sexist and tired — and also shallow, poorly conceived and performed. Pass.

Sexist and tired. Pass.

It's not a bad premise. It's actually a good. Unfortunately, almost everything in this episode has been done better in other TV shows and movies. So it's tough to get into a show that is doing a mediocre version of jokes I've seen years and years ago.
