Jeffrey Wright Lands Series Regular Role On HBO's 'Boardwalk Empire' As Harlem Boss

This is big!

Jeffrey Wright has booked a series regular role on HBO’s Boardwalk Empire, beginning during it’s upcoming fourth season, playing – you may want to sit down for this one – Valentin Narcisse, Doctor of Divinity, philanthropist, student of culture and the man who runs Harlem!

I smell an instant classic performance by Mr Wright. One for the ages! The Emmy Awards should just slap his name on one of those trophies right now…

Ok, so I’m getting ahead of myself.

Season 4 is currently being filmed.

Up next, catch Mr Wright in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, and George Tillman Jr.’s The Inevitable Defeat Of Mister And Pete, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in January.

I love Jeffrey Wright. He's one of those rare actors who just disappears into all of his roles. I am so excited to see him and Michael K. Williams share the screen. Holy hell.

THIS IS fantastic news! Like many have said,no matter how big or small the role, Wright always shines. He's one of the few actors I can call—consummate! I have no doubt he will kill the role.

The one thing I like about my favorite actors is, given the chance, no matter how small, they shine in their role and stand out. JW did that in Shaft, which apart from him, was a total dreck of a movie. He`s a good few inches short than Samuel L Jackson, but as Peoples Hernandez, he stood eye to eye. The one thing they did right in the movie was not to give that part to some goddamn rapper, although I`m sure he probably still had to fight a dozen of them for it. Broadwalk Empire is one of my favorite shows. Very much looking forward to seeing JW in it.

This show is really going to be good now. Jeffrey Wright has never, NEVER, disappointed in a role.

To be honest, I watch the show but I prefer all the storylines involving Chalky White (Michael Kenneth Williams) and his gang and family life. This is the best of Boardwalk for me. Here, the show really shines! I get board with Nucky Thomson and all that goes on around him much of the time. Really, there needs to be a spinoff featuring Chalky White and his gang and family. Just my humble opinion.

Mr. Wright is consistently amazing. Tambay, I take it that you are a fan of Mr. Wright's?

I'm suddenly very interested in this show.
