New Footage From Psychological Thriller 'Desordres' Promises Chaos

The psychological thriller is titled Désordres (Chaos), and it stars Isaach De Bankolé and Sonia Rolland, as history professor Vincent and his wife Marie,
who have just moved from Paris (with their son) to a farm near a small
town in the south of France, looking forward to a quieter life. Marie, a
retired renowned international pianist unwillingly follows her husband.
However, their hopes for a serene escape is disrupted from the very
beginning, when Thibaut, one of Vincent’s students (played by Niels Schneider), invades their family getaway, and slowly, but surely, the couple starts to come apart.

The film is directed by Étienne Faure.

It’s set to open on April 17th in France. No
word on what other territories exactly it can be expected to be
available.

Let’s hope it heads west to the USA! Maybe a local film festival will pick it up, because I’m really curious about this one. It’s certainly not the kind of film that we routinely see black actors cast in, so I want to see what’s been done here.

Plus, it just looks like it could be interesting, based on the synopsis, cast, as well as the trailer we’ve seen thus far. I’m getting a Pacific Heights, Dead Calm, Straw Dogs, Funny Games, A History of Violence kind of vibe from all I’ve seen thus far.

A brand new 45-second spot has been released and it’s embedded below. It shows a few more scenes that were not in the first trailer:

What a refreshing look on the 'thriller'. They'd never cast it like that in the US.
