Exclusive Clip From Terence Nance's 'An Oversimplification Of Her Beauty' + Theater Info
Variance Films opens Terence Nance’s enthralling An Oversimplification Of Her Beauty, today, Friday, April 26, 2013.
If it’s not already clear by now, it’s a film that I really dig for a number of reasons, and that I strongly encourage you to see – assuming it’s playing at a theater near you this weekend (or coming to a theater near you eventually).
It opens in New York City today, at the Cinema Village (tickets). Showtimes – 1:05p 2:45p 4:25p 6:05p 7:50p 9:30p.
I should note that, after tomorrow’s (Saturday’s) 7:50pm screening, at Cinema Village, I’ll be moderating a Q&A with Terence Nance. So hopefully I’ll see some of you there.
In addition to Cinema Village, it’ll also be playing at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center, Lincoln Center (tickets). Showtimes are varied, so go here for info.
And after the Sunday, 4/28 3:30pm screening at Lincoln Center, Adepero Oduye (Pariah) will moderate a Q&A with Terence.
For future playdates, visit the film’s website HERE
I’ll repost my review of it later today, but you can read it HERE
ahead of that.
To entice you further, Variance has granted S&A an exclusive 2-minute clip from the film, which highlights one of the many layers of this intricate piece of film art – the animation, which Terence incorporates throughout the film, harmoniously with the live action sequences, in this delightfully dense journey of a film, in search of meaning and understanding.
