OWN To Premiere New Reality Show About NBA Player JaVale McGee And 'Mom'ager

Since I have admitted before that I’m certainly no sports follower and know next to nothing about basketball, I’ll leave it to you experts out there to tell me if this is a good idea or not.

But yesterday the Oprah Winfrey Network announced that it would soon premiere a new reality show Millionaire Mama’s Boy which will follow the daily antics of Denver Nuggets center JaVale Mcgee and his “colorful” (as some have called her) mother or “mom”ager (as others have called her) Pamela.

In an official statement the network said that the show will “explore” the dynamic relationship between former WNBA basketball star Pamela McGee and
her 25-year-old son JaVale. Famous for being domineering on and off the court,
Pamela is not only JaVale’s mom, she’s also his business manager, working to
build an empire while trying to keep a tight rein on the glitz and girls that
come with the life of an NBA star. Meanwhile, Pamela’s managing her own life,
which consists of her equally fabulous single girlfriends who also have sons
coming up in the league. When Pamela needs someone to laugh with or a shoulder
to cry on, she turns to her girls. Like Pamela, they are single mothers raising
their sons while dating and chasing their own ambitions

The statement continued…

her hectic schedule, Pamela relies on her “manny” Jay to get things done. She
trusts him to oversee her mansion, bank accounts and properties. While her
friends think there could be a love connection, Pamela and Jay deny it – but
they certainly fight like a married couple. Like any good mother, Pamela is a
force to be reckoned with, and no one is going to stop Mama McGee from taking
care of her own. After all, she is basketball royalty herself. They may be
crazy, loud and a little wild, but family’s what it’s all about for the McGees
and their friends. Ultimately, it’s a show about family, love and the
unbreakable bond between a mother and her son; all seven feet of him”.

Sounds like must see TV, though no premiere date has been
yet announced. Still doesn’t explain how he got the name JaVale though.

But the question is, will you be watching?

I remember that "EXTRA" long hug w/ Dr. J (LOL!!), & I will be watching. Sounds like the show will be more about his mom, which is good b/c she actually has time for this mess. JaVale needs to focus focus FOCUS, so I hope the show won't be too much of a distraction. He's incredibly athletic, I'd like to see him go on to be a great player in the league. & I'm glad OWN is finally getting some shows, though I hope they don't fill their entire schedule w/ reality goop (LaToya? I think NOT)

This is a lit match poised mere inches from gasoline-soaked garbage. OWN's evolution into VH-1 continues.

1. I have no idea who this dude is

2. Never let another person oversee your bank account

JaVale became known to general sports fans a few years ago during the All Star Game Slam Dunk contest

His mom actually helped him one of his dunks…and she gave an EXTRA warm hug to Dr. J(one of the judges)

since there was no mention of Javale's father….people made jokes about his mom being an ex groupie of Dr. J and Javale being the result of that. She was very photogenic from what I remembered.

Javale is sort of a knuckle head and makes the highlight shows on sports networks for making bone head plays..

Shaq has a segment on one of the nba shows called "Shaqting a Fool" where he highlights the top funny or embarassing plays of the week……and it became an acting reel for Javale pretty much.

super athletic guy….but…does bone headed things

Javale was a remote guest on a recent segment of Shaq's segment and he basically seemed a bit embarrassed that Shaq was "cooning on tv"

Javale was/is eligible to play for the Phillipines National team so perhaps his father is of that background. Maybe he's one of the indigenous people that they call "Negritos" over there .

Anyway, Javale's team…the Denver Nuggets ….have a great home record..and will be a tough series for anybody in the playoffs which start soon

playoff run should give the reality series an initial ratings boost…and I think the concept of the show is based on two characters from the tv show "The Game" athlele and momager
