Director William Friedkin, who revealed last month that his 1977 film “Sorcerer” has finally received a studio-funded digital restoration and will premiere at this year’s Venice Film Festival, recently gave an impromptu tribute to Roger Ebert following a Q&A at the Chicago Critics Film Festival.
