Dwayne Johnson Heading To HBO To Star In Dramedy About Retired Athletes Living In Miami

The man is everywhere, and constantly busy. No vacation breaks for Dwayne Johnson apparently.

He’s now signed up to star in a half-hour dramedy pilot for HBO which centers on the lives of retired athletes living in Miami. Johnson is a former athlete himself (he played college football, and, of course, was a WWF star, which helped launch his movie career).

The currently-untitled series will be executive produced by his Pain & Gain co-star Mark Wahlberg, with Stephen Levinson (Entourage) penning the script and executive producing as well.

Peter Berg will direct the pilot, which HBO is aiming to shoot in the fall.

In addition to this potential scripted series, Johnson is also hosting and producing an unscripted reality competition series for TNT, titled The Hero, in which 10 people live in a house and are put through various tasks that challenge their brains and brawn.

And let’s not forget the 15 to 20 big screen projects he’s attached to star in… this year alone, he stars in 3 different feature films – 2 have already been released; 1 is on the way.

It’s only a matter of time before we hear that Dwayne Johnson has an album coming out. He does sing and play instruments too, you know.

Absolutely love Dwayne and Im proud of his hustle. I hope he doesn't burn himself out. He looks like he is tired and burning the candle at both ends. The TNT show looks rushed and from the trailer it looks like they could have executed the pilot a little bit better. After all it not an original idea anyway especially with the Amazing Race, that's been on television for the past 10 years or so. He's been asked in a couple of interviews about whether he is being overexposed and I feel if people start asking the question, it may mean they are getting tired of you. But like some stated he may be planning on retiring soon and he trying to get as much done as possible. Best wishes to him.

His PR team is doing him justice! He may come out with a clothing line soon…or tennis shoes

At this rate, he must be planning to retire and chill within the next 10 years.

"Men of a Certain Roid Rage". Sorry, I'm tired.
