First Poster For Lars Von Trier's 'Nymphomaniac' Lets Your Imagination Fill In The Rest

Oh, Lars! Even though the provocateur won’t be at the Cannes Film Festival this year (it’s cool, whenever he’s ready he’ll be welcomed back), the first poster for Lars Von Trier‘s upcoming “Nymphomaniac” will surely get some amazing attention on the sales/marketing floor on the Croisette.

Kinda like a Rorschach blot test, it’s left up to you to interpret what those parenthesis suggest, but we’re pretty sure you know exactly what it is. Boasting the tagline “Forget About Love,” it seems the movie won’t be the sunniest of affairs as per usual, with Charlotte Gainsbourg leading the two-part tale centered on a woman who recounts her sexual history to a stranger after being found beaten in an alley. And with hardcore and softcore versions being prepared, either way there is going to be a lot of flesh on display.

Stellan Skarsgard, Shia LaBeouf, Jamie Bell, Christian Slater, Connie Nielsen, Willem Dafoe and Uma Thurman co-star in the film that will be released (hopefully later this year) in the United States by Magnolia. Check out the one sheet below. [Artificial Eye]

If you go to official website: and scroll into the parenthesis you know exactly what it is. But it can have a nice double meaning to not only being vaginal but also being a chronicle or collection of her life as character so far.

No one could pull off that poster apart from Lars Von Trier and he did it! It works. Simply brilliant.

*is it slightly disturbing? Yes. But it works because it's Lars Von Trier. He pulls no punches. What you see is what you get. End of.
