Created by Mortal Kombat developers NetherRealm Studios, Injustice: Gods Among Us lets you take part in a cross dimensional conflict of epic proportions. If you like fighting games, or the DC universe, you will like Injustice: Gods Among Us. The combat is responsive, and the characters are all well represented. While many players will flock to Superman and Batman, even less popular characters like Killer Frost and Green Arrow can hold their own.
Before I played Injustice: Gods Among Us, I had some reservations. As an avid comic book reader in my youth, I know that Superman is ridiculously powerful. While having heroes fight each other sounds cool, I thought it was impossible to have Superman fight Batman in hand to hand combat, and not totally annihilate him in the first few seconds. Injustice: Gods Among Us explains this in such a way that fits with the DC universe.
I played through the game on its hardest setting, and really enjoyed the story. The animation is well done, and the voice cast (including Batman standard Kevin Conroy) does a solid job of moving the story forward and making the game fun to watch as well as play.
The cast is being extended through DLC (downloadable content). So far we have seen Batgirl and Lobo, but rumors are that we will also soon see Mortal Kombat regulars Sub Zero and Scorpion.
Injustice: Gods Among Us, is available on the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii U. A free IOS version was also released, and is available now on the App Store.
