Women Win Big at Australian Directors Guild Awards

Women won the majority of the major awards at last week’s Australian Directors Guild Awards. Cate Shortland won the Best Director award for her film Lore and Rachel Perkins won Best Director for direction of a TV drama series for Redfern Now.   Women directors rock it in Australia.  Their success is a model that should be studied.

Jessica Reddenbach – Direction of a short film for Tender

Jennifer Peedom – Direction of a documentary series for Life At 7

Grace McKenzie – Direction of a documentary feature for Audrey of the Alps

Madeleine Parry – Best director in a documentary (stand alone) for Meatwork

Martha Ansara – Lifetime achievement award
