The Heart of Summer, written by Tedric Huff and Mark Bridges and directed by Adrien Allen (a story by Ray Balgrove), will make its world premiere at the American Black Film Festival next Sunday.
The drama is described as “a heartwarming story of family, love, and faith that follows the soulful
journey of a young man returning home from college and facing who he
was, and who he is to become.“
Filmed in South Florida, Summer, billed as a romantic drama, also focuses on a Caribbean American father, played by Paul Campbell (Shottas, Dancehall Queen), who is over-protective of his daughter. Campbell also serves as producer in the film.
The Heart of Summer, which also stars Lex Kelly-Meade and Tesh Humphries, is executive produced by Balgrove, Allen and Vivienne Chance.
