Casting Watch: Keira Knightley to Produce and Star in 1920s Suspense Tale 'The Other Typist'

Keira Knightley is set to produce and star in “The Other Typist,” adapted from Suzanne Rindell’s debut novel centering on an introverted typist in 1920s New York who befriends a glamorous and mysterious co-worker and is introduced to the city’s fast-living underworld. Fox Searchlight snapped up the rights.

A review of the book cited by the Hollywood Reporter leaves us with this tantalizing praise: “A dollop of Alfred Hitchcock, a dollop of Patricia Highsmith, and some ‘Great Gatsby’ flourishes.”

Knightley was last seen in Joe Wright’s lavish “Anna Karenina,” which won the Best Achievement in Costume Design Oscar earlier this year. Next up is Kenneth Branagh’s action-thriller “Jack Ryan,” co-starring Chris Pine, slated for a December 25 release.
