First Poster for Doc 'The Church House: Sexuality in The Black Church'

This is one of the documentaries being developed by D. Channsin Berry, director/producer (along with Bill Duke) of the much-discussed documentary Dark Girls.
The Church House: Sexuality in The Black Church, which will surely be discussed and debated due to its controversial premise, has released its first poster.
According to Barry, his motivation for making the film was that he grew tired “of friends and family and others being disappointed with the church… No one wants to talk about SEX, and the debacle involving Eddie Long was the tipping point on the subject for me. This is not a witch hunt, but it is a progressive history lesson of the Black Church in America.”
Look out for The Church House, along with Berry’s other project The Black Line… Profile Of The African American Woman… Part 3, sometime in 2014.

Looks like a witch hunt to me.

Berry is seriously hitting the nail on the head with his documentaries. I am looking forward to watching all of them. My hat is off to this one.

POPPYCOCK!!!

"This is not a witch hunt, but it is a progressive history lesson of the Black Church in America."

Really? Then why even mention that which it's NOT, instead of letting the doc speak for itself?

And please, a progressive (whatever that means) history lesson of the Black Church in America? Listen, I've never met D. Channsin Berry and I surely don't know what motivates his passions nor what Black Churches he has attended, but it's safe to say he can't speak for me. To that point, I've sat in the pews of many Black Churches on the East coast to New Orleans, thru the Mid West and the West coast, so it's safe to safe I have a view which may not agree with Mr. Berry's "history lesson". In fact, based on his above words, it's doubtful he and I are working from the same paradigm.

However, this is true–> "The Church House: Sexuality in The Black Church, will surely be discussed and debated due to its controversial premise"

You bet betcha, all the kneejerks, Statlers and Waldorfs (the muppets in the balcony) of the world will come out to throw peanuts from the cheap seats. Many of them will have little or no reference of The Black Church other than what they've seen on the 10 o clock news or from another fool who has never visited a black church. But they'll drop their tainted views of wisdom as if it's the gospel.

Come to think of it, I nominate Sergio to take the lead. Yep, he said most black pastors are homosexuals, yet those who frequent black churches knows that's not true. But I am sure Sergio ( and many just like him) have more unsubstantiated mess about the black church that they'd like to regurgitate, so when this doc hits (here at S&A) y'all all come back to get the party poppin'.

Btw, I don't quite understand the mission of talking about SEX in the church? But wait, D. Channsin Berry said this is not about a witch hunt. Yeeeaaaah riiiiiiiight… game game game and he knows it. But all closed eyes are not asleep.
