'Being Mary Jane' Broadcast Premiere Tonight, 10:30PM ET/PT, On BET

Well, you’ve seen several clips from the pilot movie, and at least 2 trailers, and now, finally, tonight, you’ll get to see the entire 90-minute film, when it makes its broadcast premiere on BET.

Being Mary Jane, the pilot movie, debuts on BET, tonight, TuesdayJuly 2nd at 10:30pm ET/PT.

Being Mary Jane, the TV series, is slated to premiere in early 2014 on BET.

Gabrielle Union stars as the title character, with Omari HardwickRichard RoundtreeMargaret AveryLisa VidalRichard BrooksTika SumpterRaven GoodwinB.J. BrittAaron SpearsLatarsha RoseStephen Bishop and Robinne Lee, rounding out the cast.

None of us here at S&A has been able to see the pilot movie, so no early reviews here. But I’m sure we’ll be talking about it with you folks tomorrow. I’m predicting another ratings smash for BET, continuing its streak of recent hits.

my faveourite part was when Tika referenced The Have and Have Nots…not. Great start not overtly dramatic like some of BETs shows, Union keeps getting better every time I see her.




I think the show sheds a very bright light on women wanting more than just a job or booty call. While also showing the difficulties black women face to get taken seriously in todays society. Gabriel Union gives women hope that we can be honorable and successful while keeping God and family first. I’m a fan!
