Comic-Con: 'Showrunners' Doc Is First Film to Screen Footage at SDCC's Lyceum Theater

Documentary “Showrunners” is the first film to screen footage at San Diego Comic-Con’s new satellite programming room, the Lyceum Theater at Horton Plaza.

The film focuses on the challenges of running a television series, going behind the scenes into the writers’ room and on set via interviews with 20 top showrunners including Joss Whedon, J. J. Abrams, Damon Lindelof, and more. Tara DiLullo Bennett (“Lost Encyclopedia,” “Fringe: Septembers Notebook”) will moderate a panel on the showrunners’ craft with contributors featured in the documentary: Hart Hanson (“Bones”), Bill Prady (“The Big Bang Theory”), and Jane Espenson (“Husbands,” “Once Upon A Time”) as well as “Showrunners” director Des Doyle & Co-Producer Ryan Patrick McGuffey.

The Friday afternoon 2 PM screening will be available to Con attendees who get tickets through a lottery system, details here and below:

Entry to the Lyceum requires a separate ticket and a wristband, plus your Comic-Con 2013 badge. Drawings for panel entry tickets at the Lyceum Theatre will be held at 9:00 AM in the Autograph Area (upstairs in the Sails Pavilion) on Friday and Saturday morning. Each winner will receive entry for two into the Lyceum Theatre at Horton Plaza. (Please note: there is limited disabled seating.) You will receive two tickets and two wristbands. Each ticket must be present at the theater, with attendees wearing the wristband, to gain access. The Lyceum Theatre is assigned seating.

There will be a second drawing shortly following the 9:00am drawing for “stand-by seating tickets.” The stand-by seating tickets are limited and do not guarantee you access to the panel.
