FIRST LOOK: Trailer for "Saving Mr. Banks"

Let's make a film about the great Walt Disney and rate it pg 13 so nobody can take their kids…

This looks awesome! I'm so looking forward to this!

Sometimes I get the feeling people want an impressionist to play Walt Disney. Tom Hanks wasn't trying to mimic Disney. Rather create an American icon. A character full of enthusiasm and optimism. Being on set while Mr. Hanks performed, I was delighted to see how he captured the essence of the man. Not a shallow comedy club routine.

I can see a Best Actress nomination and perhaps a production design nom. as well. As for Hank's portrayal … to be frank I'm disappointed. The accent, the mannerisms and appearance of Hanks doesn't resemble Disneys character. Talk about that tan as well.

Now if they make a miniseries of the book Disney War, they can take my money right now.

Working for Walt Disney on Mary Poppins back in the sixties was delightful. And, being on set with Tom Hanks many, many years later was delightful as well. If you love Disney as much as I do, you'll love this movie.
