Trailer Watch - The Lifeguard - Directed by Liz W. Garcia

We wrote last week about Liz W. Garcia’s amazing and perfect quote about women working as directors in a recent interview. Garcia’s latest film, The Lifeguard, premiered at Sundance and was picked up by Focus World and Screen Media Films.

Starring Kristen Bell as Leigh–almost 30 and her life in New York has completely fallen apart. She decides to move back home to stay with her parents. Leigh quickly regresses into her teenage life–lifeguarding, hanging with her old friends and embarking upon a very illicit affair.

The Lifeguard opens on August 30th in theaters. It will be available on VOD on July 30th.

typical indie bullshit. would watch on a sunday afternoon on TV but most definitely not paying a ticket for this

No Please More

Yikes, the trailer makes this movie look as generic as the Sundance reviews indicated. A 30-something Millennial struggles to find motivation in life and reverts to the carefree days of youth.

The Life Guard, The Teacher, Adore, Girl Most Likely to Succeed, etc. There seems to a rash of film about women who embark on illicit affairs with underage males. Wonder they they picked up this idea?
