Watch: Get a First Look at the 'Veronica Mars' Movie That Made Kickstarter History in This New Trailer From Comic-Con

Like it or not, the “Veronica Mars” movie Kickstarter opened a new frontier for crowdfunding, proving that film projects can raise more than microbudgets on the site, that people are willing to contribute to something that’s associated with a big corporation if it allows them to make a movie happen that they really want to see, and that celebrities have an unsurprising advantage (though not a consistent one) in this realm. And now we’re finally getting a glimpse of the results of Kristen Bell and Rob Thomas’ $5.7 million campaign. The five-minute video below was unveiled at Comic-Con yesterday, and while it begins with behind-the-scenes interviews and clips from the 2004-2007 series, starting at the three minute mark you can find a trailer for the film with all new footage. What do you think?

I came late to Veronica Mars; I think I only seen one episode, but like the concept re a high school female PI. I wrote a trilogy using a black female investigator so I'm sympathetic to the concept. I hope the KS fans get what they want and wish the production. May even see the film and go back to look at the original series.

Really proud of all those who made this happen I never was a fan but always wanted to see the series but never had time but now they did it in the best process possible and the fans made it happen cause really bar none that is the bottom line and they showed all that there was a real ardent fan base for the show / series / characters and really concept and fan made this all come real -All you march forward stay positive – you did it !!
