Watch: Tate Donovan Makes His Doc Directorial Debut With ESPN '30 for 30' Short 'Arthur & Johnnie'

Grantland has been releasing short documentaries online to accompany the second round of ESPN’s sports doc series “30 for 30,” and the latest one comes from an unexpected name — Tate Donovan. The “Damages” and “The O.C.” star has, like fellow actors Andrew McCarthy and Eric Stoltz, been directing television episodes steadily for the past few years, but “Arthur & Johnnie,” below, is his first venture into doc filmmaking. The 12-minute short is a first-person account from Johnnie Ashe, who after completing his first Vietnam War tour as a Marine volunteered to be re-deployed in the place of his sibling so that Arthur could continue playing tennis at home.
