WATCH: Terrific New Trailer for Ridley Scott and Cormac McCarthy's 'The Counselor'

A terrific international trailer for Ridley Scott’s “The Counselor” has landed. In this new spot for the neo-noir thriller, which was written by Pulitzer Prize winner Cormac McCarthy (“No Country for Old Men,” “The Road”), we get more of a glimpse into the kinetic plot: Michael Fassbender’s steamy romance with Penelope Cruz is disrupted when he finds himself in over his head in local drug trade. There’s a decapitated body, and what look to be some ferocious supporting turns by femme fatale Cameron Diaz (sporting a cheetah tattoo on her back), Brad Pitt and crazy-haired Javier Bardem.

Best line goes to Pitt, referring to the $20 million in missing drugs that’s been placed on Fassbender’s shoulders, and the baddies who are out to get him: “They don’t believe in coincidences. They’ve heard of them, they’ve just never seen one.”

The film hits theaters October 25, via Fox.

Fassbender previously starred in Scott’s last big-screen venture, “Prometheus.”

The quote is "coincidences" not "consequences"

I generally love him, but Fassbender's performance looks awful here.
