2013 Emmy Award Predictions: The TV Movie/Miniseries Categories

2013 Emmy Award Predictions: The TV Movie/Miniseries Categories

The increasingly star-studded TV movie/miniseries categories have found themselves looking more like the Oscar nominations than the actual
Oscar nominations did this year, with the likes of Ellen Burstyn, Laura Linney, Helen Mirren, Alfre Woodard, Jessica Lange, Sigourney Weaver, Imelda Staunton, Al Pacino, Michael Douglas, Matt Damon and James Cromwell — each and every one of them either Oscar winners or

HBO’s Steven Soderbergh-directed Liberace biopic “Behind The Candelabra” has all the makings of a frontrunner here (it was official competition at Cannes, no less), though Jane Campion’s “Top of the Lake” and the third edition of “American Horror Story” could all do quite well too.

I think that the best actress award will go to Jessica Lange(along with sigourney weaver she deserves this more than anyone), The best actor award to either michael douglas or al pacino who did a terrific job, I would love to see james cromwell taking home the award but I don't agree with the supporting actress category. My nominees would be Charlotte rampling for restless(I want her to win) Lily Rabe for AHS( she was so robbed), Sarah paulson for AHS, Imelda Staunton and Alfre woodard. Ellen Burstyn although an amezing actress was nominated because of star power.

Vanessa

I thought James Cromwell did awesome as Dr. Arden, but Zachary Quinto was pretty horrible convincing as Dr. Thredson. Plus, he won in that category at the Critic's Choice so I put him as the front-runner.

Akira

Matt Damon and Michael Douglas will both win in the lead and supporting actor's category.

Mitchell

Debbie Reynolds wasn't submitted, nor was anything from Coma.

CR

Still a mystery to me how American Horror Story counts as a miniseries – it seems as if the TV Academy is rewarding the AHS showrunners for writing the show into the ground each season.

Jorge

Sarah Paulson is definitely the front runner in the lead category, also I dont see Holly Hunter getting nominated she was barely on Top of the Lake and was not impressed.

chris d

maybe add Billy Zane to best actor/mini series. He got pretty good reviews for "barrabas."

Gabro

Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulson, amazing acting! both were incredibles!

JPH

Chloe Sevigny Lead Actress "Hit & Miss", Carla Gugino Supporting Actress "Political Animals", Geena Davis Supporting Actress "Coma", Brenda Blythen Supporting Actress "Mary and Martha".

shelly

you lost me at Chloe Sevigny. Girl please. And to have her INSTEAD of Lily Rabe??? Put down the pipe

Doubtful. The Daily Show has won Best Variety Series 10 years in a row. As well as countless other examples (Bryan Cranston, Mad Men, Modern Family, 30 Rock etc.).

Name1

Jessica Lange deserves it more than anyone. But i'm afraid they will say ''oh she's already won last year''
