Deneuve has been in some of the most iconic films of our time like The Umbrellas of Cherbourg in 1964, to Belle du Jour in 1967 which is widely considered her breakthrough role. Over a several decade career, Deneuve has crossed over between art-house films to mainstream Hollywood and even to television. She’s played dark roles in Repulsion, The Hunger (alongside Susan Sarandon) and on television in Nip/Tuck.
In that time, Deneuve has earned two French Cesar awards, a Berlin Silver Bear, the Volpi Cup at the Venice Film Festival and an Oscar nomination for her starring role in 1992’s Indochine.
She recently starred in On My Way, that competed at the Berlin Film Festival, about a woman who goes on a road trip with her grandson. Her upcoming films include L’homme que l’on aimait trop
and Trois Coeurs.
Deneuve will attend the 26th annual EFA’s on December 7th in Berlin to receive her award..
