Oscar Talk: 'Gravity' and '12 Years a Slave' Top the Fall Fests So Far

On this week’s Oscar Talk Podcast, Kris Tapley and I do a roundup of where we are post-fall film festivals. “Gravity” and “12 Years a Slave” are at the top of the Oscar heap right now, with a batch of other contenders below, from “August: Osage County,” “Dallas Buyers Club” and the Coens’ latest, “Inside Llewyn Davis,” to $100 million hit “The Butler.” Will that movie last through the long haul? We remind that it is only September, people! (The Gurus O’ Gold are still all over the place.)

Listen and weep.

It didn't take long for them to embrace Ben Affleck.. So It's definitely possible.

Please consider doing them more frequently again :(

I'm really hooked on your podcasts. Keep it up!

August: Osage County. Misery loves family. Ha! Mourning becomes Electra, now THAT'S misery!

Wonderful to have Oscar Talk back!

Looking forward to 12 years a slave. I wonder if the Academy can embrace Steven McQueen so 'early' in his career. It took them a while to embrace Martin Scorsese.
