Taye Diggs Heading To ‘New Girl’ To Romance Zooey Deschanel

Taye Diggs Heading To 'New Girl' To Romance Zooey Deschanel

Taye Diggs will play a new romantic interest for Zooey Deschanel’s lead character, Jess, in the FOX comedy, New Girl.

Diggs’ character will appear in the 7th episode of the upcoming third season (airing in November), playing a character named Artie, who’s described as a “smooth, confident ladies’ man,” who has his eyes set on Jess, which is kind of a problem for her because she’s in a new relationship with another character, Nick, played by Jake Johnson

It will also be in that episode that the character played by Damon Wayans Jr., named Coach, will return (he was in the pilot episode), in what will be a multi-episode arc.

Up next for Mr Diggs, look for him on the big screen in Baggage Claim and The Best Man Holiday, both out this fall.

I just wanted to clarify some things. Jake Johnson who pays Nick Miller on "New Girl" will be in "Jurassic World" film. I wrongly stated that "Jurassic World" is a reboot. It is not a reboot , but a sequel.

All of you forgot to mention the character 'Cece' played by Hannah Simone. The producers/writers don't know what to do with her character either. Cece is heavily reliant on her interactions with the other characters. As far as her relationship with Schmidt he always SHINES and she NEVER does. Instead of making Cece a regular woman like Jess the producers make her out to be this brown goddess, and she never becomes relatable. At least Winston is relatable! The character Winston is not alone, but I believe there is a great storyline for Winston Bishop. This show "New Girl" isn't good right now for 'Winston Bishop,' but it is great for the career of Lamorne Morris.

Good news! Damon Wayans Jr. has joined "New Girl" as a series regular in the up coming fourth season. Also I am really excited to see Damon Wayans Jr. and Jake Johnson on the big screen in "Let's Be Cops" which opens in August 2014. Speaking of Jake Johnson he will be in the reboot of "Jurassic Park" film franchise. That makes me think of Lamorne Morris and what movies he will do?

As long as they keep Lamorne Morris I don't care who romances "New Girl". I read about Damon Wayans, Jr. returning and while that's great and good, I've become very attached to Lamorne and very used to the rapport betwixt all four characters. I don't want that to change.

Fox had better be prepared for the inevitable avalanche of hate mail.

It's cool Taye has a guest gig and Damon Wayans, Jr. is coming back for a short arc, but they can't even write for the one Black person that is actually in the cast. I'm a fan of the show and watch it every week. But what they do (or don't do) with LaMorne Morris' "Winston" character is criminal. They do nothing for him. Each week he has a crazy new quirk that's not funny and does nothing for the character. The writers refuse to take the time to develop this character and he is completely marginalized every episode.
