Watch: Holliday Grainger and Emile Hirsch Play Historical/Cinematic Icons in the Trailer for A&E's 'Bonnie & Clyde'

In December, A&E Networks is going to be taking on not just a classic pair of criminals but two major icons of cinema when its take on Clyde Barrow and Bonnie Parker is broadcast over two nights simultaneously on Lifetime, A&E and History. “Bonnie & Clyde” stars Holliday Grainger (“The Borgias”) and Emile Hirsch (“Into the Wild”) as the infamous couple, and the four-hour scripted miniseries will air in two parts on December 8th and 9th. The idea that a series can serve the brands of all three networks at once is an odd one, but it is a tale of romance featuring historical figures also well known from the world of film, when they were played by Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty in Arthur Penn’s 1967 film. Bruce Beresford (“Tender Mercies,” “Driving Miss Daisy”) is directing from a script by John Rice and Joe Batteer.

Check out the first trailer for the miniseries below — does it have promise, or the absence of? And before you answer, take a second to reflect on the fact that Miley Cyrus was originally cast as Parker, but dropped out in October of last year.

Well, maybe this will give a better perspective of what this duo was really like. Supposedly, Bonnie Parker was not the killing type. But she did run with Clyde which led to their horrific deaths (A long, harrowing scream emitted from their car when they were taken down by the police. I am not sympathizing here, they took people out for no reason other than cold blood.) It does look like it will be over-dramatized a bit, but the performances will be good due to the casting. Yes, it is great that the talentless, overly exhibitionist, useless chipmunk known as Miley "Can't Carry A Tune" Cyrus dropped out of this production. I assume it was to work on how best to gyrate on a married man (who went along with it for some stupid reason) on national television while imitating a cartoon character.

Thank God, Miley Cyrus dropped out!!!
